Connecting local performers and businesses on Larkin Street’s sidewalks, Busk It! on Larkin transforms sidewalks, parks, and storefronts with pop-up performances that are free and accessible to the public. The program supports working artists while contributing to a vibrant, welcoming streetscape right in the heart of the Tenderloin.

The expansion of Busk it! is a partnership between the Mid-Market Business Association & Foundation and the Tenderloin Community Benefit District, with both organizations working together to connect local musicians with neighborhood businesses. Performances take place along Larkin Street, between Golden Gate and Geary, at participating host businesses: Outta Sight Pizza, Emperor Norton’s Boozeland, The Phoenix Hotel, Catrachita Yucateca, Quoc Long, Ember Grill, and Tender Noodle, as well as Sgt Macaulay Park.

Launched as part of the Market Street Arts initiative in March 2024, Busk It! has paid over $300,000 to 200 musicians and presented more than 1000 hours of free live music on Market Street across 500+ performances. The program will continue to support working artists and Tenderloin businesses, while transforming community experiences along Larkin.

Kicking off on August 3rd, the first month will include performances by returning Busk It! artists Analog Dog, Black Rabbit Synthony, The Genie, Malpica Live Looping, Tori Roze and the Hot Mess, and the Whoadees alongside musicians from the neighborhood, including Double Helix Peace Treaty.
